SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100-Tr & 450/200-Tr
The SmartSolar MPPT RS solar charge controllers are designed by Victron to cater to systems with large series connected PV arrays that charge 48 V DC battery banks. These controllers are ideal for large off-grid and grid-connected battery systems.
Available in two models, 5.76 kW and 11.52 kW, the features of these controllers include a wide operating solar voltage input of 80-450 VDC, independent tracking inputs, comprehensive connectivity options, isolated PV connections, a display screen, fully programmable battery charging parameters, and active cooling. The new metal case design and fully covered electrical connections enhance safety and give a modern appearance, aligning with Victron’s latest product range.
MPPT: Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking
The SmartSolar RS solar charge controller seamlessly connects to a PV array with a voltage range of 80 to 450 Volt Voc and efficiently charges your 48V battery bank with either 100A or 200A, depending on the model. The charge settings are fully programmable, allowing customization for different battery chemistries such as lead-acid, lithium, and more.
Setup and Monitor with VictronConnect
You can easily control and configure the SmartSolar RS charge controller remotely using Bluetooth through the VictronConnect App. This enables convenient device setup, management, and access to important information at a glance, including battery voltage, current, PV voltage, current, historical data, and trends.
Daisy Chain Additional Units
Equipped with VE.Can bus ports, the SmartSolar RS charge controller allows communication with additional SmartSolar RS & VE.Can MPPT units. These units can be easily interconnected in a “daisy chain” configuration using an RJ45 cable. When connected, all individual charge controllers synchronize their charge stages and can transmit their data, including monitoring information, through the same cable to a GX device like the Cerbo GX.
Remote Monitoring and Control
When your GX device is connected to the internet, the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) provides full access to the capabilities of your SmartSolar RS charge controllers. If your installation is connected to a GX device and the internet, VRM offers anytime, anywhere access to your MPPT controllers for free. Even in remote installations where internet connectivity is unavailable, you may still be able to monitor your MPPT by connecting the GlobalLink 520.
SmartSolar Display
The SmartSolar RS charge controller features a built-in display on the front panel. The display provides information on battery voltage, charge current, individual array voltages, including instantaneous and total figures, and unit status, including any error codes that may occur.
I/O Connections
Equipped with a programmable relay and options for remote temperature and voltage sensing, the SmartSolar RS charge controller offers flexibility in integration. The remote input supports the Victron smallBMS and other BMS types with allow-to-charge signals.
