Flexible Charge Algorithm
The charge algorithm of the SmartSolar charger is fully programmable, allowing for customization based on specific requirements. Additionally, it offers eight pre-programmed algorithms that can be easily selected using a rotary switch, providing flexibility and versatility in charging options.
Comprehensive Electronic Protection
The SmartSolar charger incorporates extensive electronic protection mechanisms to safeguard the system and connected components. This includes over-temperature protection and power derating in high-temperature conditions, as well as protection against PV short circuits, PV reverse polarity, and PV reverse current.
Built-in Bluetooth Smart
Equipped with built-in Bluetooth Smart technology, the SmartSolar charger enables wireless connectivity for convenient setup, monitoring, updates, and synchronization with compatible devices, ensuring seamless control and management of the charging process.
Temperature and Battery Monitoring
The charger features an internal temperature sensor, and when paired with optional external sensors via Bluetooth, it can provide real-time monitoring of battery voltage, temperature, and current. This capability can be achieved using accessories such as Smart Battery Sense, BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor, or SmartShunt, allowing for comprehensive battery monitoring and optimization.
VE.Direct or VE.Can Connectivity
The SmartSolar charger offers flexible options for data connection, including wired connections through VE.Direct or VE.Can interfaces. These interfaces enable seamless integration with devices such as the Color Control GX, other GX products, PCs, or other compatible devices for data monitoring and control.
Synchronized Parallel Charging
With the ability to synchronize up to 25 units using VE.Can or up to 10 units using Bluetooth, the SmartSolar charger allows for parallel charging of multiple units, maximizing charging capacity and efficiency for larger-scale installations.
Fully Discharged Battery Recovery Function
Even in the event of a fully discharged battery, the SmartSolar charger initiates the charging process, providing recovery and recharging capabilities. It can also reconnect to a fully discharged Li-ion battery with an integrated disconnect function, ensuring optimal battery performance.
Multiple Controller Solution with VE.Can
With VE.Can technology, up to 25 units can be synchronized, offering a scalable solution for installations requiring multiple charge controllers.
Remote On-Off and Programmable Relay
The SmartSolar charger includes a remote on-off feature, allowing it to be connected to a VE.BUS BMS or other compatible devices. Additionally, the charger offers a programmable relay that can be configured to trip on alarm events or other specified triggers.
Optional SmartSolar Pluggable LCD Display
To provide convenient access to real-time monitoring and setup functions, the SmartSolar charger offers an optional pluggable LCD display. By simply removing the protective rubber seal and plugging in the display, users can easily access key information and control options directly from the charger’s face.
